Welcome to the Village of Barker, New York 
Official Municipal Website

The Village of Barker is a rural community located in the Eastern portion of Niagara County, directly in the center of the Town of Somerset. The Village is located 50 miles North of Buffalo, 60 miles West of Rochester and 40 miles East of Niagara Falls. Just a few miles to the North is the beautiful Lake Ontario. According to the 2020 census, the Village has 583 residents.

The Village offers quaint shops, restaurants, businesses, Fire Department, Post Office and the Library. We are also home to the award winning Barker Central School, which offers our children superior educational experiences, as well as athletic programs. The Barker Fire Department is also located in the Village limits. The BFD is a volunteer department that provides essential services, such as ambulance, fire and rescue.

The Village is a close knit community filled with great neighbors, who are always willing to help each other out.  Whether you live, work or are just visiting the Village, it has wonderful things to offer!

Resolution #29-2022 
Designation of Offices to be filled in the next General Election
WHEREAS, the next general election will be held on March 21, 2023;
WHREAS, the Board of Trustees must designate by resolution and to the public the offices which are to be filled in such election and the term thereof;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED,
Section 1: That the Board of Trustees designated the following offices as vacant on March 31, 2023, to filled at the Village Election to be held March 21, 2023 for the following terms:
                              Mayor-Two (2) year term
                              Trustee- Two (2)-year term
                               Trustee-Two (2)-year term
Section 2: The Village is hereby directed to publish this resolution in the Lockport Union Sun & Journal as official public notice.

 Please have your carts placed curbside

**for persistent problems with collection contact Modern first, then call the Village Hall Office to report the issue for support
